The angels, Maalochim, are frequently mentioned by the holy Prophets (Nvee'im) and in our prayers- particularly in the Birchos Kriyas Shma. But the subject is in a shadow, due to a lack of knowledge.
Lets get into it with a few questions and facts
One: why does HKB''H need angels? What purpose do they serve
Let me explain where my questions comes from: I have reason to believe that the world was created by Hkb''h for men- that they should accomplish in the world and make something of themselves and become higher and be deserving to live in the afterlife (another topic, for another day, for another writer…) so what do the angels do that people can't
Two: why do we, humans, need to know of their existence? As we see that the prophets (and, of course Hkb''h) wanted us to know of them. The question is, basically, if there is any way for them to interact with us or relate to us
Three: Correct me if I am wrong, but I think no solid mention of them is made in the torah. By not solid I mean that where it is mentioned in the torah it is possible to insist that it is referring to something else. (like a messenger (shliach) etc.)
Four: Again, correct me if I am wrong, but I think that even in Nveeim and Ksuvim the angles are not mentioned as ''characters'' or ''players'' who performed something- I think they are mentioned primarily or solely in visions and prophetic messages (Neviois)
As was the case with the Novy Yecheskel and the Novy Yeshayo that they received visions in which they saw Angles
