What’s the difference between me and you
What's the difference between me and you?
How is it that certain people won't make any (difference) impact on my life and then are those that my whole life is centered around, there is a small circle of people that all my decisions are based on, for some people I would be willing to suffer physically and emotionally and for the rest I wouldn't.
Is there really a me and you (are we really separate entities) or is it just a matter of focus, me being the one I'm mostly focused on than come my children, wife, parents, friends etc. the people I'm least aware of make the least impact on my life the people I'm most aware of make the biggest impact.

Dear Tzuriel,
I think that in the hebrew Atzor, Jehosef has elaborated this subject in length. The main point that he brought out is exactly what you are pointing at. Namely that "me and you" are mere names given to different areas, but that really we are the whole of our consciousness which includes all. It is natural though that the closer is more focused at than the further. However, the "really me and you" is not only a point of focus, but also of direct perception. "Me" has a direct perception of phenomena whereas "you" only externally reflect those same perceptions, hence "you" being usually further away in focus. "Usually", because sometimes such a reflection can be more valued that one's direct perceptions, hence the possibility of a person sacrificing him/herself for the sake of the other.

Dear Shachliel
What do you mean by ''natural'' is it a limitation of not being able to focus on the further the same way as the closer?
You write ''because sometimes such a reflection can be more valued that one's direct perceptions, hence the possibility of a person sacrificing him/herself for the sake of the other'' are you trying to save our heroes?

Dear Tzuriel,
Yes I meant that it is a question of focusing ability (acquired by training oneself to think in unifying principles).
I am not trying to "save" the heroes but to explain their mental process.
