נראה לי ששום דיון בנושא לא יהיה שלם אם לא נתיחס לטומאה הקשורה ביחסי אישות ולתקנת עזרא.

Just a closing note on the subject.
Although I have preached against the holification of sex since it is a hormonal release spiced with human physical warmth, it doesn't mean that it is unimportant. I do think that with a lot of education and energies, man could control his sexual activity to be rational, but in the prevailing culture its influence has made sex a need for the better functionment of one's life. Going back to the comparision to halacha, I think that halacha would of had set a criteria of "ona" for men also. It is only that unlike the man's duty to woman which is measured by his daily occupation, his duty to himself can be measured only by himself if he does it honestly.

Sachliel,
You may go a step further in your research and in the gist of Ani's terms.
Since man is too weak to proportion between the hormonal and harmonal aspects, it may very well be that not only the hormonal influence overwhelms him. It may also be that he is not at the height of a deep and true friendship. Therefore we may see the hormones as a means that helps him to focus on a level of togetherness which he is not capable to be up to it!

Dear Veto,
Nice idea of which I have not thought before. But then if togetherness is the name of the game to such a level that it id heightened by sex, why should incest, homosexuality and relating to one's beloved dog be negative?

Sachliel,
Well, who knows? Maybe indeed on the day "bayom hahu" that total and optimal love will reign between the creatures, it may then be positive to copulate even with at least some of those you mentioned. However I do think that even then, copulation other than such that can give birth should be more idealistic without ejaculation, since it would remain a pure way of strong hugging.
