Can Jews be perfected by believing in Christ? h

Without dwelling on the person (Ann Coulter) who lately voiced that opinion, I think the opinion should be ideologically debated or more exactly it should be explained why such a debate is worthless and therefore futile.

In terms of logical argument, she has brought up one adjective about Christianity versus Judaism that it is fast track/Federal Express. In other words that should mean that the perfection of humanity is better/quicker achieved by accepting Christian beliefs than by accepting the Jewish ones.

While it is preposterous to take such a statement as an overwhelming absolute truth applicable to each person, still it deserves consideration of thought about the reformative aspect of Christianity which is at the base of her statement that Christians are perfected Jews.

The issue is neither historical truth of nor past atrocities performed in the name of that perfection and even not about Christianity being the best religion or Atheism being better than any religion, but about the practical idea that adopting Christianity versus adopting Judaism has an aspect of perfection that causes the person adopting it to be more perfect.

In my opinion the point raised here depends so much of what each of the two religions tells the specific person choosing between them and also what that specific person needs to be told in order to be more perfect. Therefore as long as each of those religions lacks noticeable perfection in themselves, it is even of no use to try to clarify what is meant by "Christianity versus Judaism", although there are many forms of both.

However, there may be some general guidelines for orienting people facing such an hypothetic choice between religions. Those guidelines wouldn't be so much in choosing the better ideology which is also difficult to determine. On one hand one could ideologically prefer Judaism as it basically has less beliefs since Christianity is an addidition to Judaism, but on the other hand one could argue that the added beliefs in Christianity come to perfect the imperfections caused by the Jewish beliefs. The guidelines would be rather in choosing the more perfect behavior. For example if a person would ask my advice in a situation that for some reason she has to choose between religions and wants to be more perfect, I would definitely reccomend the one in which the influencing environement is more perfect. This can obviously change from environement to environement within the same religions.

So if a few people would come together asking my advice about which religion to adopt on a yet unpopulated island, I would have no answer besides telling them to try and learn more about each religion and even more about themselves.
