Musical Moods
Music is considered the international language. It is understood by all humans and animals alike. It is an extremely powerful tool as you can manipulate people's feelings with it. The heights and depths that music can bring a person to are unreal.
There is a story said I believe about the Modziter, (not sure) that he needed to have surgery done, and refused to allow the doctor to administer anesthesia, he told the doctor that he would compose a song while he was undergoing the surgery and would not feel a thing.
And of course there is also R' Shloima's niggun ''Lord, Make me high''…. The name speaks for itself.
We all go to chasunas, and listen to the band and at times get happy and excited, and dance like lunatics, and other times we feel like crying.
The people that produce plays, and movies etc.. Have taken this tool and put it to good use in helping to create a mood that matches what is going on on the stage or screen in front of you.
Many of our Heimishe plays have used musicians that have done a very good job at creating the right ''mood''. I don't really know who the musicians at the earlier plays like '' The Yosef Shpiel'', ''Al Naharois Buvel'' , '' A Slichos Nacht in Kiev'', ' The Spanish Inquisition'' , and then the more recent ones like '' The Shvartse Oitser'' etc. were but they did a very good job with the music
There is a whole lot more to write about here, and I would like to hear your opinions.

Happy you are right, you really need to know when not to play! and the soundtracks are researched for hours, but even then, it's hard to get them to work 'cause the actors like to do thier own thing and will often not wait for the correct time in the soundtrack to say thier parts , and therefore throw the whole thing off time.....

Tuff question
While working on a project I might suddenly get all excited
WOW this is a great sound...
but by the time it's done I don't want to listen to it any more
Actually some parts of the Tiechman Ani Mamin tape came out very good...
We are getting new sound libraries now so we'll see what's coming next
