Ok Zeidy, I will go through your points in order.
1) In a general sense the concert was a flop. I agree, yet it was entertaining, was it not? I was not there, but I did see the video. I liked the way Mr. Teitelbaum did it. He shot behind the scenes, and I thought that all that was very interesting.
2) Shwekey, He is what he is, inexperienced. He makes a lot of noise before he comes on stage, this monitor is too loud, that one too soft, the bass is way to low, the mids are way too high, he is what the people in the industry call a ''Prima Donna'' His songs are great and I must say that I have had a few good performances with him,, but all he needs is to lighten up a bit, perhaps listen to the music a little more, and not to his own voice so much. But yeah he could have done a better job at the concert.
3) Williger has been a surprise lately. He started his career with a bang, Hu Klal etc. then became just part of the group, (Yeedel, Dachs, Wald) He has tried to break away by doing all the Carlbach stuff, and lately has been doing a lot of great and creative work, it's a little corny, and you can't compare it to what MBD did (with out costumes) but he's interesting, and he's original, I'll give him points for that.
4) Yeshiva Boys Choir, Great job!
5) Yossi Green, and Ohad. Yossi is a great composer, I will leave it at that, although I would like to see some more meaningful songs, not just ''ABI GESHOSEN'' Ohad has a great tape out; I think that he was just very nervous.
6) The Rabbi's Sons,, You gotta respect them. They are pioneers in this field that we dabble in. I think they were great. They performed with all the seriousness, and intensity that we are lacking in both Shwekey and Williger. They got into their music 100% and you can hear the difference.
7) Shlomo Simcha, chazunes is made for a baal tefilah, not a concert crowd that is interested in say,, Lipa for instance, I was bored out of my box.
8) Lipa. This is a forum in itself. An extremely talented young man, with a twist of the absurd. The question is, is he really that what he portrays, or is all this just an act? Regardless, he is great on all counts.
9) I think you forgot Dovi Tessler being conducted by Yisroel Lamm in the beginning; I thought that it was very cute! (and a bit of a punch in the ribs to all one man bands!)
