Got this from a personal friend and "confirmed" the story
R' Tovia
Horowitz who has a Shul on the East side (and who walked in from the
East Side on Simchas Torah for the Hakofos) Son learns in the mesivta
on 48 Street. The son is in charge of the Chevra Kinyan Seforim there.
He is a Choson who will be getting married in the next couple of weeks.
One day Naftuli Reuven Zitronenbaum went over to the Chosson and
requested that he give him the keys to the Kinyan Seforim office. For
whatever reason the Chosson didnt want to so Naftuli Reuven kicked him
out of the Mesivta.
R' Tovia
went into R' Ben Zion Halberstam the so called Rabbi from 48 Street and
asked him why his son was kicked out? R' Ben Zion answered that if "NAFTULI REUVEN DID IT HE PROBABLY HAD A VALID REASON TO DO SO AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT HE CAN DO". R' Tovia went home all angry and upset.
A few days later R' Ben Zion
tried to contact R' Tovia to say I'm sorry for what happened but for
whatever reason R' Tovia was unavailable and was unreachable. A while
later R' Tovia gets a knock on the door and Avrum Aaron Lesser is
there. Avrum Aaron tells R' Tovia that the Ruv is trying to contact him
to say I'm Sorry. Avrum Aaron goes on that the Ruv sent with him a
message that since he is making Chasunah he will help him with the
expenses for the wedding but he wants him to forgive him for what
happened. R' Tovia thinks for a moment and says ok.
A while goes by and R' Tovia
dosen't recieve any money so he calls Avrum Aaron and tells him that
the Ruv promised to help him and the expenses are to much for him and
he relied on the Ruvs promise. Avrum Aaron told him that he will go and
fin out whats happening. A few days later R' Tovia gets a knock on the
door from Avrum Aaron which hands him an envelope and tells him he
brought him to checks on is good today and the other is postdated for a
month aftre the wedding and apologizes for the delay and the
inconvenience it caused and leaves.<>>
R' Tovia all excited goes
back into his home and tells his Rebitzin the news and together they
open the envelope. Stunned!!!! of whats in it, 1 check for $250.00 good
today and another check of $250.00 postdated for a month after the
wedding.
R' Tovia called his father R'
Shmiltche who is close to R' Ben Zion and a gabai there franticaly and
started crying to him, "HOW COULD THEY DO SUCH A THING TO ME!!!!". R'
Shmiltche ran into Ben Zion for an explanation, R' Ben Zion answered, "SHMILTCHE
KICK DICH UN, DEIN PUNIM SHEINED, MEN ZEIT AZ DI "SCHINAH REET OIF DIR"
GEI NUCH GELT IN ICH BIN ZICHER AZ M'VET ZICH UN RIFFEN VEIRIM, MIR VER
VET MIR GEBEN GELT". AKLH"K, VD"L.
