Sanzer Rebbe Visits Rubashkin 
The Sanz-Klausenburger Rebbe had a 30 minute conversation with the imprisoned Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin on Tuesday.

The Sanz-Klausenburger Rebbe, Rabbi Zvi Elimelech Halberstammet with the imprisoned businessman Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin on Tuesday.
Visiting from his hometown of Netanya, the Sanzer Rebbe traveled to the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, a medium security facility in Orange County, NY, which has a significant amount of frum inmates.
The warden allowed the Sanzer Rebbe to enter along with another 5 men. Cameras and recording devices were not allowed, according to Israel website bhol.co.il.
6 inmates, including Rubashkin, joined the visitors for Mincha prayer in one of the prison wings, the website reported.
The Sanzer Rebbe then had a personal conversation with Rubashkin, former executive of a now-bankrupt meat packing plant in Iowa, who was sentenced to 27 years in prison for bank fraud in a case which has been widely decried as unjust.
The "chizuk" conversation lasted for 30 minutes, the website reported.
In related news, Congressman Dave Loebsack (D-Iowa) recently sent a letter to the Attorney General Eric Holder asking for an investigation into the Rubashkin case.
This is the 50th letter written by a U.S. lawmaker to review the questionable manner in which Judge Linda Reade tried the case.

Sanzer Rebbe Shlita Visits Rubashkin in Prison(Wednesday, February 29th, 2012) The Sanzer Rebbe Shlita is in the midst of a two-week chizuk visit in the United States, touching the lives of his chassidim and others wishing to take advantage of the opportunity. The rebbe on Tuesday, 5 Adar 5772 visited with Sholom Rubashkin in prison along with other Jewish prisoners in the facility. The rebbe was there for four hours.
Prison officials approved the request for the visit, permitting five people to enter with the rebbe but cameras and recording equipment were prohibited. The rebbe davened mincha in the prison, relying upon six Jewish prisoners to complete the minyan. Following mincha the rebbe sat with Sholom Rubashkin, seeking to give him a chizuk. The meeting lasted over 30 minutes. According to a Chadrei chareidim report, the rebbe also met with 20 chareidi prisoners. The prisoners took part in a ‘l’chaim tisch’ as it were and they reported were very uplifted by the visit.

On Monday, the Rebbe traveled to Lakewood, NJ, to visit thefrum community there and the Torah bastion of Beth Medrash Govoha. The Rebbe first visited the home of the rosh yeshiva, Rav Malkiel Kotler, where he was also greeted by the roshei yeshiva, Rav Yeruchem Olshin and Rav Dovid Schustal. Following a brief meeting, the Rebbe was escorted from Rav Kotler’s home at the corner of Fifth Street and Private Way to the Beth Medrash Govoha a block away. A large crowd joined the Rebbe and roshei yeshivaas they walked to the main campus of the yeshiva, where the Rebbe greeted talmidim of the yeshiva and received a tour of the various botei medrash. Monday evening, the Rebbe attended a kabbolas ponim at the home of R’ Yonah Morgenstern. Yesterday, the Rebbe traveled to Otisville, NY, where he visited Reb Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin at the Otisville Correctional Facility. The Rebbe also met with other frumprisoners there. The Rebbe was accompanied by a number of close chassidim anddavened Minchah at the prison, after which he spoke with Reb Sholom Mordechai for about a half-hour. During his recent trip, the Rebbe visited various communities, including Williamsburg, Union City, Monsey and Boro Park. The Rebbe spent Shabbos Parshas Terumah withchassidim at the Radisson Hotel in Piscataway, New Jersey.

| | האדמו"ר מצאנז, המנהל מזה כשבועיים מסע חיזוק אצל חסידיו בארצות-הברית, ביקר אתמול (ג) אצל האסיר הרב שלום מרדכי רובשקין בבית הכלא 'אוטרסויל', מבתי הכלא השמורים ביותר, ושהה עם אסירים יהודים הכלואים במקום במשך ארבע שעות.
מנהלי בית הכלא אישרו את ביקור האדמו"ר, יחד עם חמישה אנשים נוספים, ללא מצלמות או הקלטות.
האדמו"ר התפלל בכלא תפילת מנחה, כאשר במניין משתתפים שישה אסירים.
התפילה נערכה באגף המרוחק משאר אגפי הכלא. לאחר תפילת מנחה התיישב האדמו"ר לשיחת חיזוק אישית עם שלום מרדכי רובשקין, שארכה למעלה מחצי שעה.
לאחר מכן יצא האדמו"ר לאגף אחר בכלא, שם שוהים כ-20 אסירים חרדים, רובם מעצורי 'פרשת דואק'.
האסירים התיישבו סביב שולחן אחד ל'לחיים טיש' עם האדמו"ר, שנשא בפניהם שיחת עידוד וחיזוק במשך שעה ארוכה.
על שלום רובשקין, בעבר הבעלים של מפעל הבשר הכשר הגדול בעולם, נגזרו 27 שנות מאסר, בגין עבירות של הלבנות הון. |
