Bronx man charged with hate crimes
A Bronx man has been charged with placing anti-Semitic stickers at several locations in Westchester County.
Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro said Thomas Zibelli, 33, was charged with criminal mischief fin the fourth degree as a hate crime and aggravated harassment in the second degree as a hate crime.
The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the DA's Bias Crime Unit, Mount Vernon Police Department, Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police and State Police Hate Crimes Task Force.
It is alleged that he placed anti-Semitic stickers at many locations in Westchester including the Metro-North Fleetwood Train Station and the Fleetwood Synagogue in Mount Vernon.
It is alleged that in August, Zibelli had several minors place anti-Semitic stickers at the train station, which he has stated were placed there to ''intimidate the Jews'' and to make the Jewish people afraid. About 65 stickers, depicting swastikas and statements '' '', ''Hitler was Right'', and ''Stop Non-White Immigration'', were placed throughout the station.
He is also charged with having minors place anti-Semitic stickers on the synagogue's windows, front doors and signs owned by the synagogue.
The investigation continues.
