A 70-year-old man was the victim of a wild hit-and-run in Brooklyn Thursday night, and police said he was miraculously expected to survive.
The man, whose name was not immediately known, was standing near 12th Avenue and 49th Street in Borough Park when a red SUV came speeding down the street, barreled into him, did a full 360-degree turn and kept driving, witnesses said.
"People were screaming, they were saying, 'Hey! Hey!' and he ran," one witness said.
The driver apparently kept the music pumping loudly in the car as he fled down 12th Avenue and onto 48th Street.
Rachel Braun, 31, who was nearby at the time, said the victim, believed to be an Hasidic Jew, was lying on the ground, bleeding profusely.
"He looked unconscious."
Rashid Hafiz, owner of a nearby convenience store, said the victim had two books in his hand and a book bag that was torn open as he was hurled onto his stomach.
Police said there was no deion on the suspect's license plate.
