After following the news about a new development in PA NJ NY and CT,
I was deeply disappointed to learn that none of them have gotten of
the ground. And now, yet again, we are left to wonder will there
ever be a new community. Or will our kids have to pay the price of
our comfort and convenience for not making any real progress.
Allow me to apologize to our members for not keeping you up to date.
Frankly there was no news to report. On the other hand I think we
could have done more in so many way.
We have now reorganized our effort and will try to bring some light
to this problem. As you all know the solution starts with us the
people, not the askonim. We have to let everyone know it is time to
do something. We have to be ready to give up some level of comfort
to make this goal reachable. It depends on us.
The first thing we are trying to accomplish is to shed new light on
the issue and keep the discussion alive. Second, over time we have
talk to a lot of people who gave us good ideas. We collected all of
them to try to compose some sort of proposal for a new community.
But our work is not done here. We need more ideas from more people.
We are studying proposals from other neighborhoods to see what has
to be addressed and in what order. The vital parts needed to support
a new community. And the governmental issues needed in order to win
their approval.
We have seen failure in the past, but we have also learned a
tremendous amount of knowledge. In fact the time may be right to
start thinking aggressively at broader ideas that don't involve
commuting to New York.
In the coming months we will try to address some issues facing
everyone. We will try to open the discussion so you can say what you
think the new community should be. The best ideas came from people
who are frustrated at the current system. These are the people who
will make it happen.
Sooner or later my landlord (and yours too) will sell the house I
live in to an artist. It will happen I have no doubt. he will make a
fortune but I will be left with no place to live.
So please join in and invite all your friends and family to join the
discussion.
