hi everyone, this is tani - please send this letter to all of your
friends. i know this family personally and know that they need the
help. please do not disregard
Dear Friend,
Unfortunately every year many tribulations befall Klal Yisroel all
over the world. Many times whether due to distance, economic
situations, or mere disinterest we allow the opportunity to help those
afflicted pass us by.
On December 29th, 2004 my friend, Zacharia Levi, moved back to New
York from Chicago to be with his family. During the years that he was
a member of our community he volunteered his time in many chessed
programs both in Shaarei Mizrach, our shul, and in the community
around him.
Upon arriving in New York, his stepfather requested that he accompany
him to Montreal for a much anticipated shabbat meal with the Tosh
Rabbi shlita, a great Halachic authority of our time. Zacharia, his
stepfather, and four of his thirteen siblings started their journey.
They crossed the Canadian border December 30, 2004 late evening.
Shortly after that they hit a patch of black ice and rolled over into
a ditch. Zacharia, who was driving at the time, and his brother
Yisrael were the only two to remain in the vehicle. Everyone else was
thrown clear of the crash. Yisrael, 17, Baruch Hashem, sustained no
injuries – the others were not so lucky. Zacharia, 24, broke his
shoulder and hand. Two of his brothers, David Yosef, 15, and Moshe,
13, sustained many broken bones, a few of which required pins to set.
Sara, 18, sustained severe head trauma which then lead to her falling
into a coma (B'H she has since partially recovered). Zacharia's
stepfather was killed instantly, may he rest in peace.
Please! We are now asking you not to let this opportunity to help
pass you by. We are begging you to help this family of fourteen
children ages 3 to 24 who have been left fatherless after this
tragedy.
We would appreciate any donation you can afford, but for those truly
unable to send money please say tehillim so that those still sick will
B'H have a full recovery.

Moshe ben Leah Ayala (13 years old)
