Two men were stabbed on a Brooklyn subway platform early Sunday morning while waiting for a train, police said.
The two victims, who were not identified by police, were standing on the outhbound platform of the F train at Ditmas Avenue in Borough Park at 5:15 a.m. when they were approached by a group of three men.
The two groups first exchanged loud words and then hard blows, police said.
It is unclear what sparked the argument, but it quickly escalated into a brawl, with both sides throwing punches and kicking one another, before one of the suspects pulled out a knife and begin slashing the two victims.
A 23-year-old man was stabbed on his left side and his elbow was slashed.
The other victim, who is 29, was slashed on his left thigh.
The three suspects fled from the station, where an MTA worker was assigned behind the ticket booth, in the wake of the bloody fight, police said.
A witness saw the melee, ran to a pay phone and called 911. Paramedics rushed the two victims to Lutheran Medical Center where they were listed in stable condition, police said.
Police were still searching for the suspects last night.
