The kuntres under discussion is nothing but lies. It is certainly
ossur to read.
The truth is the exact opposite of what Ben Zion's supporters are
now desperately trying to persuade the public. They never wanted to
go to Beis Din. Why would they? In a position of power they could
only lose.
Anyone who knows the people involved on both sides can be in no
doubt that the plotting politicians are BZ's soldiers and the
shallow baalei battem his footmen.
It has always been the case that those who sought to glorify the
external elements of our faith ignore its inner meaning. This is
true to an absolutely absurd extent in Bobov,where any stranger will
observe youngsters busier with their peyos than their gemorrahs and
kollel men who barely open their books. It is important to note that
these deions do not apply to everyone, but their has always
been an element of kiruv rechokim in Bobov chasidus.
R Shlomo ztl had it all, the inner meaning sought by his elite and
closer talmdim and an exterior which atracted every level of Jew. R
Naftoli ztl was more inner than outer appeal so the shallow ones
never got him. BZ did. Simple, but infuriatingly true.
They will scream the names of the exceptions, the chosheve Yieden by
BZ. Every one of these people is blinded by loyalty, either simply
to the name Halbestam and Bobov or to the worldwide mafia which has
illegally seized Bobov on BZ's behalf.
Loyalty to a name and a family is fine, but let us not for a moment
imagine that the BZ supporters, at best, are anything more than
patriotic tradtitonalists. MD's people are actual chasidism, In a
world of plastic Judaism they have chosen content over appearance.
Make no mistake, the contrast is complete. Bobov used to be a place
for both these groups, but both these groups always existed. They
were bound to split.
MD's people are generally more chasidish and learned. This of course
makes them a minority in Bobov, since as even R Shlomo ztl said it
can't be said with certainty that all those who call themselves
Bobovers are Shomer Shabbos.
The split is a fact and Beis Din will decide on what terms. In the
meantime we should all just watch on, as BZ and his men show us what
they're all about.
