The trash fight in which Gifford Miller found himself
enmeshed lives on, with some of the lame-duck City
Council speaker's colleagues striking back at him.
City Councilman Simcha Felder (D-Brooklyn), a Mayor
Bloomberg booster who voted against Miller in his
fight with Hizzoner over a waste-mangement plan, says
the speaker stripped his district of funding as
punishment.
So Felder has exacted a measure of revenge of his own,
sending letters from his government office to
community groups in his Borough Park district saying
that while Miller was helpful in the past, he left
many groups "out in the cold" this year.
And the letters praised the man whose job Miller
wants, saying, "I am happy to report that thanks to
Mayor Michael Bloomberg's intervention, every
community organization for which I sought funding has,
indeed, been funded."
Miller spokesman Steve Sigmund fired back, "It's not
[Miller's] job to make everyone happy. It's his job to
fight for a responsible budget that protects New
Yorkers."

I have a good friend that works in one of the org. that get funded by councilman Felder and he told me that this is true. They received the letter from the Councilmans office stating that this year the org. should thank the Mayor for the money not the Speaker.
