Palestinians will demolish more than 20 synagogues in Gaza after the Israeli army withdraws, a Palestinian interior ministry spokesman says.
NETZARIM, Gaza Strip -- Palestinian police stood by helplessly as crowds of Palestinian youths smashed the windows of a synagogue in a former Jewish settlement and tried to set on fire another empty synagogue and a Jewish seminary.
Hamas gunmen raised their Islamic militant and the Islamic Jihad flags over the ransacked synagogue.
