I called Nassau Collesium and the person that answered the phone stated that the reason the show was canceled was due to the fact they were not prepared for a concert and did not know that there were certain requirements for the show and the whole situation was one big misunderstanding!
My kids are just as perplexed. We do not know what the real truth is but the Nassau employee i spoke to sounded like an idiot.
I was told that there were 6,378 tickets sold so this does not seem like the amount of tickets sold was the issue. MBC would never cancel unless there was a good reason. Our hearts go out to the promoters, musicians, singers and anyone that was effected by this mess. I know this ruined my families plan but gam zu letova and to dan lkaf zechus —there is no way this was done on purpose. No promoter of jewish music wakes up in the morning saying to themself how can they mess up your day.
It's in the best interest of Miami Boys Choir to have a good show and make our kids happy and not cancel a show for no good reason.
I am sure there will be more information at a later time.
Botom line–Does anyone know the truth?

Most of the message from Yerachmiel to the boys in the choir last night. ''Nassau Coliseum has cancelled the show tomorrow because of technical problems with the ice and its covering that they had failed to anticipate, that lead to the inability for them to put on the program, and cause insurance liability… This is a first for me in 30 years, and quite upsetting… Im yirtzah hashem we will do the event and many more in the future.''

THIS WAS TO BE THE MOST COMPLEX SHOW EVEN FOR YERACHMIEL.
1- FROM MY SOURCES IT SEEMS (NOT FACT) THAT NASSAU IS UNDER NEW TOUGH MANAGMNT
2- AND THERE WERE SOME ''UNWRITTEN UNDERSTANDINGS'' AS AN EVENT OF THIS SIZE HAS NUMEROUS DETAILS ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO SPELL OUT ALL NEEDS & ACCOMODATIONS
3- THERE WAS AN INSURANCE PROBLEM WITH THE DOG SHOW & POSSIBLY 2 OTHER POINTS THAT CANT BE POSTED
4-NASSAU WANTED AN ADDTL. $75000 FOR THE RIDES/ UNION DUES
5-THE POST WHO WROTE ABOUT THE NUMBER OF TICKETS SOLD IT WAS LESS THAN EXPECTED BUT 900 TICKETS IS A NASTY DIG
6- WILL YERACHMIEL SUE NASSAU? MY GUESS ''PROBALY''
