No wonder they call it Williams-BURG!

Burglars ransacked the Southside, East Williamsburg, and Bushwick this week, raiding at least 16 residences between June 22 and June 28, police said.

The number of break-ins skyrocketed compared to the previous week — when crooks broke into five homes — and the same seven-day period last year — when thieves only raided two residences.

''The 90th Precinct experienced a rash of burglaries this week,'' said Community Affairs Officer Tommy Brown, who urged North Brooklynites to lock their windows, doors, and vestibules before leaving their homes.

''Most of them are pretty simple, with perps going in through fire escape windows,'' he added.

But that hasn't made the crimes any less horrifying for Williamsburg and Bushwick residents.

Here are some details from the burglary spree:

• Thieves climbed through an unlocked window to steal a laptop computer from a Berry Street residence early on June 22.

The crooks got into the apartment, which is between Broadway and South Eighth Street, between 1:30 am and 2:40 am, while the 23-year-old victim was out with friends.

• Burglars heisted a plasma TV and jewelry from a Thames Street apartment on June 22.

The intruders grabbed the goods between 8 am and 7 pm and fled from the apartment, which is between Porter and Varick avenues, before the 22-year-old victim got home.

• Criminals snatched jewelry and cash from a South Third Street apartment on June 22.

The wrongdoers climbed a fire escape and opened an unlocked bedroom window between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Once inside the residence, which is between Keap and Hooper streets, the thieves grabbed $350, as well as yellow metal chains, rings, and earrings valued by cops at $1,600.

• Ne'er-do-wells pried a basement door to snatch an electric guitar from a Catherine Street residence.

The crooks forced open the door between 7:20 am on June 22 and 3:20 am on June 23 and stole the white Epiphone guitar from the home, which is between Powers and Devoe streets.

• Prowlers snatched a MacBook Pro and $30 from a Broadway apartment on June 23 while the 23-year-old victim was at work.

The trespassers tampered with a lock between 8:30 am and 6:30 pm to get into the residence, which is between South Ninth and Keap streets.

• Bandits grabbed a MacBook laptop from a Grand Street residence on June 23 while the victim was at the store between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm.

The crooks entered the apartment, which is between Manhattan and Graham avenues, through the front door and snatched the costly computer.

• Louts looted a Manhattan Avenue apartment between 12:15 pm and 3:35 pm on June 24.

The hoodlums heisted a laptop, cellphone, backpack, flash drive, and $40 from the apartment, which is between Montrose Avenue and Meserole Street.
