Kiryas Joel, NY - A three-alarm fire has damaged the dormitory building of the Kiryas Joel Yeshiva.
Fire departments from Kiryas Joel, Mombasha, Washingtonvile, Woodbuty and Lakeside were all on the scene for the 3-alarm fire at 13 Berdichev and Schunnemunk Roads.
The heavy fire was on the first floor of the building which was full of mattresses making it difficult to get the fire under control.
All students were evacuated safely with the assistance of KJ Hatzolah and KJ Public Safety.
Building sustained heavy structure damage.
