Dear Chevre,
This past shabbat our shul was taken over by a Carlebach Minyan. Since I was
the only person present who actually performed with the late Holy Brother
Shlomo z'l, I feel entitled to say a few words.
The congregation have replaced traditional nusah with Carlebach tunes, but
the point is this: no-one knows the Carlebach tunes! So they have gone from
not knowing nusah to not knowing anything else.
Or maybe it's like Woodstock: If you remember the tunes, you weren't
there....
