A non-religious friend of my sister told her after watching the programme "I'm glad I didn't choose that path!" I think that epitomises Chilul Hashem.

by the way i was writing my privious message after talking to some goyim asking them how they view this documentary. i can understand that when a hasid is watching this film he feels that its a chilul hashen but after looking into it throgh a goyisher eye its not.

another perspective to the film last night i sat down and watched one of the most open and honest documentaries i have seen in a long time. the film managed in a space of an hour to humanize britain's hasidic jews, which is typically closed to all interaction with the outside world. in an eye of a jentile we come across very strangedue to the wat we dress and keep away from the outside world, and that brings racism. this film has managed to create a human side to the hasidim. even jews who from the outset seem to rigid. inward looking and proper have the same temptations as the goyim. the jews battle with temptations, emotions and financial difficulty and strggle especialy in a matter of shiduchim. what the film did was to breach carfully produced narrative and show a normal side to the hasidim. the film showed that hasidim who wear hasidic clothing and speak with yiddishy accent are the same as everyone else. it seam from the film that bresler is a good hasid, wakes up early morning to go to pray, he cares dearly for his family and wants the best for his children and has of course made mistakes in his life. film like this can benefit the jewish community in britain. because they breach the kind of isolation which fuelse xenophobia and racism in britain. the film shows that avi is more like a normal english man and its a masterpiece. the film isnt a straight forward representation of stamford hill jews, but that is the point.

What do yuo think?
i think it was not about our KEHILA its CHILUL HASHEM its nothing to do with how the KEHILA in stamford hill looks like.
Agree 100% the BBC keeps making documentries of our kehilla by following our criminals and nutcases, last time it was THE HASSIDIC DRUG DEALER, we should get somebody normal to show them around, show them hatzolah properly, and all the other chesed organisations!!
