February 13, 2004 -- Two monsters grabbed a 16-year-old schoolgirl off a Williamsburg street in broad daylight — forcing her into their car at gunpoint and driving to an abandoned building where they both raped her, police said yesterday.
The sickos left the dazed victim bound and gagged with duct tape, but she managed to free herself and climb a fence to get help.

"She went through hell. I thank God she is alive," the girl's heartsick mom told The Post last night.

The sickening attack occurred Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Wallabout Street and Lee Avenue as the 10th-grader walked along the sidewalk on her way home from school.

Two men in a car — both wearing masks — pulled alongside her and one pointed a gun out the window, screaming, "Get the f- - - in the car," a police source said.

When the girl didn't immediately respond, the gunman jumped out, grabbed her and forced her into the vehicle. They held her down, tied her hands and covered her eyes with duct tape, then drove for several minutes.

The assailants then parked at an abandoned building, dragged her inside and raped her.



"She was able to free herself from the duct tape and then had to climb a fence to get to the street where she flagged down a female motorist," the source said.

The woman drove her to her apartment in Fort Greene, where she lives with her mother, stepfather and kid brother.

Her family — alarmed she hadn't come straight home after class — had called the police, and the mother had been searching for her with police.

The mother, whose identity is being withheld by The Post to protect the victim, said she was stunned such a vicious attack could occur in mid-afternoon.

"I worry all the time. You have to worry about what goes on out there. I told her, 'You are lucky to be alive because sometimes they beat you up and they kill you,' " the mother said.

"I hope the people who did this get caught."

Neighbors described the victim as a friendly girl whose family came to New York from Puerto Rico and who studied hard in school.

Her stepdad, whose identity is also being withheld, said the teen was shaken but "she's doing all right."

One of the suspects was described as a black male, about 5-foot-8.

Police said the area where the abduction occurred is usually busy, and they're asking anybody with information about the crime to call them at (800) 577-TIPS.
