I live currently in israel and im using VOIP, and im very satisfied with the service.
i use a company called vonage they have the best voice quality, ( i tried 2 other company's)

i reccomend them, they are the most popular and respected. no delays or static at all. u get the feeling that u talk on a regular phone.

they offer for 50 dollars, USA CANADA Europe and most parts of Aisa (mobile phones in eur. and aisa, not icluded), they dont have the voice quality that would make u feel that ur talking on a regular landline.

the qulaity to the usa is not so bad, but the quality to israel is usually with a delay ( and so is the rest of eur.)
Bottom line
if u want to call outside the USA i dont see it as a big deal, bec the quality wont that good.
if u need it to call within USA or CANADA, then vonage would be the best choice.
it is mostly ideal for people who live outside the states and call alot to the states, or for people who have business in different parts of the states and want people from different states should b able 2 call them for a local cal only ( i.e. u live n new york and have a branch in florida u can get a local Fla. area code that u can use in NY, so people there dont have to call u long distance).
