BORO PARK!!!! WILLIAMSBURG!!! FLATBUSH!!!!
Lately many people have been experiencing major heartache while building or renovating their homes. Many times it is with a "yidisher" contractor. The horror stories are endless.
Contractors, painters, plumbers etc can literally drain you, monetarily as well as physically. Some have been known to be outright crooks, leaving in middle of the job, extorting more money then written in the contract or worse.
How do they get new customers? Easy. They promise an old customer that they will finish the job if you put in a good word for them. They also threaten that they will "maser" some part of their construction so that they will never receive the CO.
Well you are not allowed to go to court. Your first choice is "din-torah". Unfortunately we know how this can turn out. They lie outright to such a degree that by the time it is over, you will probably end up owing the contractor more money. Or if you win, they will never finish or pay-up, claiming "ain li" or such. Going to court can be like throwing good money after bad money.
This is because they change their corporation name every year or so.
I have heard so much pain lately that I have decided to do something about it.
I will be creating a web-page that will have a listing and ratings of all type of builders.
This will include contractors, electricians, painters, plumbers…. In the Boro Park, Flatbush, Williamsburg area.
Here you will be able to tell your stories anonymously and this way we will accomplish
A we will be able to help other ''yidden'' avoid this heartache
B it can and will act as a deterrent as we will create a list of the best and worst in each category
C where there are more then a couple of ''yidden'' that are being hurt by the same vendor, we may have an option of creating a group claim that may yield better results
D maybe it will finally put some of these crooks out of business
Please send your stories to

and encourage anyone you know that is doing construction and is having a pleasant or unpleasant experience to do so.
I also welcome any ideas and opinions.
All entries will remain anonymous.
