Fact or Fiction
It seems to be commenplace that reform/conservitive/some non affiliated/" attend services on rosh hashana and yom kippur why? If their truly not religious,then there would be no guilt involved and they would never show up in the first place,
If they have some simili of religion why do they choose this time of year to express there beleif?
Is this time of year engraved into the subconscious of judiaism as "the time of year" or is it more?

Well, the idea of having a day of celebration coupled with some meditation on 'starting afresh' with some 'new year resolutions ' does appeal to many.
Also, all Non-Afiliated Jews are descendants of Observant Jews, where High-Holidays were of great significance, so that even if they left the fold as long as they were not out to spite they would keep some of the nice and important customs.

Glayber, I find it truly sad that it is guilt that brings you to shul on Yamim Nora'im; with others the drive might also have to do with the holiness of the day, God's word etc., which would probably apply to persons of all denominations (I cannot believe that most Orthodox Jews are driven by guilt alone, sorry…).
The Torah, incidentally, mentions nothing of guilt in connection with Rosh Hashanah and/or Yom Kippur specifically, as far as I could find, anyway. .

אני מאמינה שיש סיבות נוספות לאלה שציינה חבצלת בדבריה, ואלה אינן חלות רק על רפורמים, קונסרבטיבים וחילוניים, כגון - הצורך בחגיגיות דתית, תחושת השתייכות לעם היהודי החוגג יחד באותו היום ובדרך דומה, ועוד.
עני בפתח,
נדמה לי שאתה טועה - מרבית הרפורמים (במדינת ישראל ובארה"ב) אינם בנים ובנות למשפחות אורתודוכסיות, אלא למשפחות רפורמיות (בארה"ב) וחילוניות (בישראל).
ייתכן כמובן, שזכרונות ילדות מבית הכנסת בו גדלו חלק מן האנשים האלה (חידוש - גם רפורמים נוהגים להתפלל בבית כנסת...) הם המובילים אותם לחזור לשם, אולם אני מקוה בכל ליבי, שיש לכך גם סיבות נוספות, כפי שציינתי למעלה, כי נוסטלגיה (לטעמי האישי) היא רגש הרסני בהרבה מובנים.

Sholom Aleicham and welcome aboard,
I didn't necessarily mean first generation descendants, if their grandparents were orthodox and their parents kept the major holidays then there is a strong chance that it would continue further down the road too.
I also didn't mean it as nostalgia, as I tried to explain that it truly has a lot of value "to start afresh" "a day of meditation" etc..
