Personal Notes, By Yaron
Yaron Gershovsky ''Personal Notes''
Here is a new album that was arranged and produced by a very, very talented pianist.. Yaron Gershovsky.
He calls this album Personal Notes,, I guess he feels that he is conveying a very personal message through these musical selections.
This album is not for the amateur listener. There is a lot of fancy stuff going on ''behind the scenes'' of this album. (Hint,,, listen to the drum work, and look at the selection of drummers he uses.)
It is not geared towards the Jewish crowd it is more of a real Jazz album.
I personally am not crazy about the compositions at all, (sorry Yaron, I know you read this forum once in a while) but the perfect execution of the musicians makes up for that!
It's almost like watching a juggler while he is juggling a lot of objects and you think he is going to drop something.
The same thing with the music on this album. It is highly complex, yet the musicians nail it perfectly.
The arrangements although highly intricate, use very little instruments, which in itself is tricky, (using few instruments to create a sound that will interest the listener).
My summery,, this album was made for people who understand what a polyrhythm is and appreciate it!
I would definitely recommend it! You can learn a lot by listening to it.
