The tunes might be a bit weird, and sometimes downright bad on this album, BUT, the music is amazing!
He has achieved his goal of having one of the most diversely arranged albums.
I think we should take a look at Hershi Ginsberg for a moment here,
A yingerman, with amazing talent, very little if any proper musical training, has worked himself up to become a true superstar in the world of jewish music arranging.
What he did for Lipa was an amazing feat!
A rhythm gliding so simple, yet so sophisticated, horns weaving in and out, always there, yet never getting in the way of the singer, a true and total recapture of the big and famous ''real'' jazz bands of the earlier 1900's
From the brushes to the upright bass, to the ending that's not, a very beautiful job,,, Kol Hakovod to Hershi.
Of course I am talking about the ''Hummer'' song on the new Lipa tape,,, what are your thoughts?

Mr B, you're a real fan, huh? I actually think he did a great job on lipa's album. (probably one of the better ones on the album)

I must admit that I have become a fan ,yes.
His previous arrangements were not at all up to the level of what he is displaying nowdays.
In the past his arrangements were not that well thought out, you could tell that there was an idea going on but it wasn't very well translated from mind to paper.
Lately, Oz Yiboka, and the two songs on Lipa's album really stand out.
There is a certain depth, and character to the arrangements that might have been lacking in his previous works.

very true. i must admit i've been an admire of his work right from the early (Michoel Shnnitzler - neshomo flam 1) years. there was ideas and new potential that i realized right from the start. I think you are right about bringin mind to paper - there sounds like there was a glitch down that highway

any way this forum was about lipa (on page 1 and 2) so lets goback to it. Hersi Ginzberg - we'll do a forum on the next tape arranged by him

the talk is that after the terribly goyisher Baderech he did Leaylo Ule'aylo to balance it out

after this one he needs to do a BLANK tape to try and balance.
