Two pulled from Hudson after plane crash

YONKERS — Two people were pulled from the Hudson River shortly before noon today after their small airplane crashed into the chilly waters off of Yonkers.
The two unidentified travelers, who WCBS 880 radio reported were the only two people on board, were taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Dan McGuire, a resident of the Hudson Park apartment building in Yonkers, saw one of the riders being lifted from the Hudson. The retired New York Police Department officer heard helicopters outside, went to his balcony and saw the commotion below. A rescuer from an NYPD helicopter dipped into the water, he said, and grabbed one of the travelers.
"He was dangling ... he looked like a pretty big guy," McGuire said.
Details continue to develop at the scene.
