SUFFERING, SUFFERING

Suffering, suffering

 *:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Must everybody suffer in this good world? Does everybody suffer? Is it true that everybody must have, and has, a pekele? Is it true that nobody has everything? (ales in einem nishtoo by kienem… an old  Yiddish proverb) maybe you can be rich and smart and  have beautiful erliche children- who knows

There is a legend, popularized in a beautiful song by Yonoson Schwartz and Abish Brodt, that there is a cup of tears in heaven, and that before Moshiach comes it must  be filled  with tears- who is responsible for this idea? Who's brainchild is it? I didn't find it in Chaza''l

The famous philosopher Sigmund Freud was a subscriber to this idea- he claimed that life's purpose is suffering. '' Murphys law'' (''whatever can go wrong will go wrong'') seems to come from the same school of thought

True, most people have some troubles ('' walk up to any person in the street and say ''I heared  about your problem'' he will reply ''who told you''''- Zig Ziglar) but is  it from hashem or a result of their way of living? Don't think I don't have any suffering in my life….not so

Most troubles can be accredited to people's own behaviors. Obesity and health problems, social problems, parnasa, cinuch- almost everything can be blown away if you are willing to do something. Walk a little and watch what you eat, be a little nicer to your wife and kids, and serve your clients with honor and loyalty and don't lie to them

No denying that Hashem does send some suffering to people, as it says in the torah- but maybe not to everybody

So my point here is that maybe this is a better world than we thought- and maybe we are worse people han we thought…. just maybe

Maybe this can solve some of the questions people ask in despair about hashem. Like: ''why did this (fat) kolel yungerman with five kids have a heart attack while this (skinny- gym freak) bum next door lives and laughs'' maybe we can shift our outlook on the subject

Looking forward. Thanks

Come on, do you imply that when someone gets dianosed with cancer, threre was a way to avoid it? Tell the world how, and you will have saved thw world.

Bilbo referred to many cases; not to all. Secondly, in the case of cancer there is a way to minimize suffering. Thru learning how to control our emotions and not become completely overwhelmed, we could at least minimize the emotional suffering which is a big part of the suffering of cancer. Knowing that one may not live to see their kids grow to adulthood, what will happen to the family after a parent is gone, splitting up the family and so on. All these are emotional pain and it hurts to no end.

By learning beforehand how to control our emotions, and not completely attaching our-emotional-selves to anyone, even our own family, we could eliminate a lot of pain.

This idea may sound a little absurd to you if this is the first time you're reading about it, but I would suggest for everyone to think about it.

Remember: extremism is dangerous. Extreme sports results in severe catastrophes.  The same goes for extreme emotions. If you attach yourself to much to anybody, you will suffer terribly when they suffer.

So here we go again. It's in the human mind to greatly reduce his suffering in his journey on planet earth.

I don't know wheather you read what Bilbo wrote thoroghly, so here you have it: Most troubles can be accredited to people's own behaviors. He does not talk about minimizing the pain or anything like that. He is trying to imply that all the pain in this world is a direct result of our deeds. I believe that this is just nonsense
