As usual, incumbents running for office in New Square will have easy victories in Tuesday's election for lack of a contest.
Mayor Mates Friesel, trustees Abraham Kohl and Jacob Unger, and Judge Stuart Salles are seeking re-election for four-year terms. They all are running on the Crown Party line.
Friesel, 77, has been mayor of New Square since the village was incorporated in 1961.
Friesel owns a travel agency in New York City and is retired. He is married, with children and grandchildren.
Both Kohl, 36, and Unger, 37, have been trustees since May 1999, when they were appointed after a turnover on the board. Kohl is comptroller of a private company. Unger is a real estate agent.
Salles, 64, an attorney, has been the village justice since 1976.
The mayor receives an annual stipend of $2,400, trustees receive $250, and judges receive $250.
Voting will take place from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Village Hall, 766 N. Main St.
