Your're very right that there's nothing wrong in believing in someone even if he wasn't such a Tzadik.

But if the result means that thousands of his followers simply deny "KOL DOVOR SHEBIKDUSHA and some even litteraly turn atheists, now that's something that we believers should know who to stay away from.

You don't want your children to be influenced by the propoganda of these characters.
