It is with great sadness that we report the passing of the Bobover Rebbetzin, Rebbetzin Hesa Halberstam a”h, wife of the previous Bobover Rebbe, Rav Naftali Halberstam zt”l. The Rebbetzin was 80 years old.
The Rebbetzin, a daughter of Rav Yosef and Rebbetzin Lifsha of Dezh zt”l, was known as a tzadeikes who was involved in numerous acts of chessed throughout her years. With humility and immense respect, she assisted her husband, allowing him to engage in harbotzas haTorah and guide his thousands of followers.
She provided great chizuk to countless women and girls, and delivered inspiring shiurim and lectures to the women of the community. The Rebbetzin authored a fascinating book recounting some of the history of World War II and its impact on the Bobover chassidus and her own experiences during that tumultuous time.
Since the petirah of Rav Naftali some six years ago, the Rebbetzin had been in a weakened state. She passed away today.
The Rebbetzin is survived by her two daughters, the wives of Rav Mordechai Dovid Ungar of Bobov and Rav Yehoshua Rubin, Bobover rov.
The levaya will take place this afternoon, at 6:30 p.m., at the Bobover Bais Medrash on 15th Avenue at 45th Street in Boro Park, Brooklyn.
Yehi zichrah boruch.
