I wonder if this is connected to the various fights about fairness and abuse in Skver?

it looks like the skverers are 20 years behind.
this is the way the satmars successfully fight to have more Shouls in KJ and Reb Aaron's closing all the Shouls didn't work
Now their is as much as 60 Shouls open in KJ, 95% are form his Misnagdem.

The KGB supported communist government of the old USSR fell many years ago. If the government of New Square doesn't institute some realistic reforms soon, and I'm not talking about yiddishkeit, their KGB will be the end of them too. Their internal rules, meant only to support the rebistva of the rebbe, is becoming unraveled, and this will be their downfall. All this strife and rocks and fires will only lead to more machloikis and this is not leshem shomayim, its leshem malchus beis skver. When you send out a fire into the public arena, it can backfire and burn your own house too.: *-- . *
Who ever is not happy in New Square should please move out and go live a happy life somewhere else.

And after that, lets put a wall around New Skvere and lock the gate.

#4 that isn't so easy. These "unhappy" people have very deep roots in Skver, parents, brothers sisters et al. You can't just throw out dozens of people. Everybody knows that the rules in Skver are extremely restrictive, not as yiddiskeit but as pure xenophobia. These "rebels" aren't vilde chevra. They are respectable people who want to stay in Skver. The truly unhappy have actually left.

If moving out of New Square would be as is it as you put it, 1190 families would pick themselves up tonight and leave. What has skver given to its residents in terms of Yiddishkeit all in the name of the "Rebbe's tatteh"??? If skvereh Rebbe is so eager to follow his fathers footsteps, why isn't he taking 10 people (if he can even find them) and move to one of his hugh mansions and serve hashem like his father did. Skver can survive without a rebbeh just as many chareidi settlements perfectly survive.
What is certain? Skver cannot sustain itself with the current drop out rate due to a marshal law chinuch system where parents are not in charge of their own kids, one shul for 1200 members, and decision process based on "is it going to benefit us" and "us" meaning the rebbe and his ilk.
And again, let's remind ourselves who has asked for this fight?
Why feel so threatened by a few at risk bucherim davening outside of a shtetl?
Why is a rebbe of so many chasidim, so afraid of an innocent minyen a mile away from his shul?

I know little of the internal issues of the Skverer community.
My comment is strickly related to possible arson which if true is a terrible crime.
The lives of responding firemen and civilians could have be put in danger and there is always the chance that a small fire will spread. If it is indeed arson then I would hope that every effort is made to catch the parties responsible and that those persons are punished to the fullest extent of the law
