NYC Blizzard Workers At Dunkin Donuts For Five Hour Break
NYC was paralyzed following a serious blizzard on December 26, 2010. Mayor Bloomberg held a press conference where he defended the city's "diligent" efforts in cleaning up the city. The only plows I saw were these parked and unmanned garbage trucks.
According to others in the neighborhood, there were three more trucks at another Dunkin' Donuts five blocks away.
To those who have expressed concern that this is an elaborate attempt to frame the DOS: I have no vendetta here. I posted this because the public deserves to know what is happening with its money and its employees. My neighbors and I also deserve to have the basic ability to get to work and make a living. The conduct of those employed by the city following this storm constitutes a gross betrayal of public trust, and you all deserve to know.
Frankly, if I was on your end, I would be asking the same questions as you. Unfortunately, I do not have a time lapse video of the five hours between my first seeing the trucks and the making of this video. As such I cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that this was a five hour break. If you would like to live with your head in the sand and continue believing that this was a properly managed cleanup effort, you are, of course, entitled. All I can tell you is that I was there and I saw it. Anyone who was at the intersection of 18th Ave. and Coney Island Ave. for any length of time saw it too. Either way, the proof is in the pudding. At the time of this writing (about 40 hours following the storm) there have been no significant improvements, and I will be forced to stay home from work for yet a third day tomorrow
