VIN NEWS SINKS TO NEW JOURNALISTIC LOW

Monroe NY.  Today an article in the Upstate NY daily, the Times Herald Record, discussed the lawsuit filed in federal court against the village of Kiryas Joel.

The suit enumerates many civil rights violations perpetrated by the Municipalities and its agencies against the opponents of R. Aron Teitelbaum, the KJ Satmar Rebbe. 

The article, as any ethical journalistic article should be, quotes 2 authorities on constitutional law each representing a point of view on the validity of the case. 

It quotes:

"Ralph Stein, a Pace Law School professor who teaches constitutional law, sees no chance of that happening, based on what he read in the court complaint."

and also quotes:

"But Nomi Stolzenberg, a University of Southern California law professor who's co-writing a book on Kiryas Joel, argues that a political in-group abusing power for non-religious reasons is different under constitutional law than a "religious in-group that uses political power to suppress religious dissenters."

2 respected law professors state their opinion on the merits of the case, Mr. Stein believes that the proposed remedy of dissolving the village will not happen.  To protect his position he obviously adds the caveat "Based on what he read in the court complaint".

Ms. Stolzenberg, a university of South California law professor disagrees and does see the merits of the case. 

Further the article quotes the Court of Appeals that has listened to similar claim in 1997 suggesting the following;

The appeals-court judges wrote that Waldman's claims didn't "establish the sort of pervasive and otherwise irremediable entanglement between church and state that would justify a drastic remedy like the dissolution of the village."

But they added: "All this is not to say that a series of future actions evincing an enduring and all-encompassing domination of the Village government by the Congregation could not at some point suffice to create a new cause of action for the dissolution of the village."

A neutral reader would conclude that there might be disagreement between 2 law professors on the validity of the case, but based on prior comments by the court of appeal, should plaintiffs be successful in substantiating their claims the remedy of dissolving the Village is on the table.

However the "Neutral" and "Objective" reporter of VIN news read it differently.  Their Headline:

"Orange County, NY - Constitutional Law Professor: Suit To Dissolve Kiryas Joel Has No Legal Basis"

How ridiculous.

VIN NEWS then goes on to post a snippet of the article and only the portion favoring Kiryas Joel and leaving off the rest of the article.

This is just one example of the blatant disregard of the facts by the VIN staff and editors, carrying the water for the Aroini faction in the Satmar Dispute and thus encouraging further violance, intimidation and suppression of freedom of religion by those opposed to R. Aron Teitelbaum, Satmar Rebbe of KJ.

It is also worth noting, that the "Aroini" followers of R. Aron Teitelbaum have been involved in physical violence more than any other chasdidic group.  KJ which is the home base of R. Aron Teitelbaum has seen a history of violence against other Satmars for at least close to 25 years, including the burning down of a convalescent home where 60 mothers and their newborn kids were resting and were rescued from burning to death in the middle of the night only by "Hashem".  (Video of the arson can be found on youtube)

The arson was committed the night before "Hagoen Reb Yecheskel Roth, Karlsburger Ruv" was to hold a sermon for his followers in KJ without the permission of R. Aron Teitelbaum.

If the New Square arson was attempted murder of 5 people, the Monroe arson was attempted murder of 120 mothers/newborn infants.

The "Aroini's" even attempted to import their violence into Brooklyn when on 2 successive years during the Holiday of Simchas Torah they stormed the Main Satmar Shul in Williamsburg with hired bouncers.  A "Pogrom" that culminated in the arrest of 26 youngsters and a "Level 3 Mobilization" by the NYPD to restore order.

For the sake of showing a pattern, another blatant example of VIN news distorting the facts and serving as the PR arm of the "Aroini" community.

In Williamsburg there is a community Council the UJO headed for more than 20 years by the legendary Reb Moshe Duvid Niederman, (Rabbi David Niederman).  The "Aroini"s in Williamsburg opened a competing council by the name of UJCare, an organization with no physical office but a very nice letterhead and a PR arm called "Vin news".

This past April 10th the following article appeared as a Main News on VIN News:

-A nice picture of tons of foods waiting to be distributed on the street corner of 14 Hooper in Williamsburg, the HQ of the Aroinis in Williamsburg was attached.

Brooklyn, NY - UJCARE, the community relations agency, representing communities throughout Willamsburg, Boro Park, Bayswater, Monsey and Kiryas Joel, has secured private and public funding from generous benefactors and food bank agencies, and launched its 4th ''Project SABAINU'' (which means ''satisfy us'')'', and distributed vouchers for over 200 tons of food for Passover on Sunday April 10th .

In the spirit of the Passover Hagadah, which reads, ''Let all those who are hungry come and eat…'', SABAINU volunteers had the arduous task of assessing family needs and distributing vouchers at several locations, to insure that those who need it most will get the necessary staples (including fruits, vegetables, grape juice and eggs) to celebrate the holiday to the fullest.  Some families feed as many as 15-20 participants at their Passover Seder (the traditional ceremony that tells the story of the Jewish Exodus from Egypt).

When asked if the Project SABAINU 2011 was a success, Isaac Abraham, a community activist and Public relations Coordinator for the event, replied ''No!'' Success will be when there are no hungry mouths to feed''.

''We are delighted to once again for the 4th year distribute vouchers of kosher food Items to economically disadvantaged residents in advance of Passover'' stated Gary Schlesinger, Board Chairman of UJCare.

Nice story........ one little caveat is missing.

NEVER HAPPENED.  in 2011 for whatever reason the UJCare didn't do their usual food distribution before Pesach.

Why April 10?

On that same Sunday UJO had their annual food distribution which provided food for the needy families in Williamsburg, elected officials and the community at large witnessed this great "Chesed" displayed, so the UJCare ordered their PR arm, VIN News, to blunt the message and post a fake news article.

 In sum, VIN News has lost any pretense of being a journalistic website and has shown its colors as serving as a gun for hire and a PR arm for anyone willing to pay their price.  Please forward to your friends and family so we can finally once and for all expose this website for what they are.
