Coca-Cola has announced the global launch of a new line, 'Coca Cola Blak', which adds coffee extracts to the traditional Coke base.
The drink is to hit French supermarkets on January 15, and the Atlanta-based company sees the launch as equal in importance to that of Coca-Cola Light in 1988.
A US launch is scheduled for April, and a Spanish debut 'before the summer', the company said.
'It creates a new drink category for adults,' said Isabelle Hubsch, director of innovation for Coca-Cola France, adding that the name was chosen to underscore the product's 'mystery'.
